Since 2010, World Plumbing Day has been an annual international event run by the World Plumbing Council as a means of highlighting the important role of the plumbing industry in relation to public health and the environment. The United Nations declared 2005–2015 the International Decade for Action “Water for Life”—setting a world agenda that focuses increased attention on water-related issues.
Saniflo’s
easy to install and water-conserving products take all of the goals of World
Plumbing Day and the International Decade for Action into consideration:

Using these initiatives, and after the recent
success of the World Toilet Day promotion, Saniflo has put together a World Plumbing Day Contest. This contest is designed to help one lucky winner create
a more efficient, eco-friendly room in their home.
The winner of the World Plumbing Day contest
has the opportunity to significantly change their home’s water consumption.
According to Environment Canada, a low-flush toilet uses approximately 6 litres
of water per flush. Assuming that each person flushes the toilet 4 times per
day, that equals nearly 9,000 litres of water per person per year.
For a family of 4, that’s nearly 36,000
litres of water per year.
Although the amount of water used by a
low-flush toilet is considerably lower than the amount used in a standard
toilet, with a Saniflo SANICOMPACT or SANISTAR system the winner of the contest
will be able to save 2 more litres of water per flush than a standard low-flush
toilet. Both of these products use only 4 litres of water per flush— saving
approximately 3,000 more litres of water per person. For a family of 4, this
saves approximately 12,000 litres more per year.
